The Original Nestlé Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (12 ounces) package Nestlé Toll House semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 cup chopped nuts, optional
Preheat oven to 375 °F. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy; beat in eggs and vanilla extract. Gradually blend in flour mixture. Stir in Nestlé chocolate morsels and nuts, if using. Drop by rounded measuring tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 9 to 11 minutes, until edges are golden brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; place on wire cooling racks. Store in tightly covered container.
